Russian Shot By Ukrainian Sniper At 1.5 KMs Using Armor-Piercing Incendiary Round

That is not even a record for Ukrainian sniping, which was set in December by a shot from 2069 meters. JL

Oleksandr Yan reports in Militarnyi:

A Ukrainian sniper eliminated a Russian infantryman with an accurate shot from a PGW LRT-3 large-caliber rifle at a distance of 1450 meters (1.5 kilometers)  with a 12.7x99mm armor-piercing incendiary round. The video recording and adjustments of the shooter were carried out with the help of SAFRAN JIM LR multifunctional binoculars with a laser rangefinder. Last December, an officer of the Ukrainian DIU Special Forces killed a Russian soldier at a distance of 2069 meters. The elimination of the invader became a record for Ukraine

A Ukrainian sniper eliminated a Russian infantryman with a shot from a 12.7 mm rifle using an armor-piercing round at a distance of one and a half kilometers.

The video of the objective control and details of the shot were published on the Gray Area Group channel.

The Ukrainian soldier has already posted archived footage of an accurate shot from a PGW LRT-3 large-caliber rifle at a distance of 1450 meters and the defeat of an enemy infantryman with a 12.7x99mm armor-piercing incendiary round.

The video recording and adjustments of the shooter were carried out with the help of SAFRAN JIM LR multifunctional binoculars with a laser rangefinder.

In his blog, the sniper says that the rifle has a powerful and quite traumatic recoil due to its caliber, and the longitudinal slide design only helps to transfer all the energy to the shooter’s shoulder. He notes that the recoil force is even greater than that of a comparable weight and design McMillan Tac-50 rifle.

At the same time, it remains easy to disassemble and clean, and meets the declared accuracy of 0.5 MOA. Another advantage is the good anti-corrosion coating.

“In general, the rifle is working and in our case successfully worked on both armored vehicles and enemy manpower. You can see an example of the latter in the video above,” the user summarizes.

The rifle pictured in the photo is equipped with “a native, fairly high-quality suppressor, premium ACCU TAC HD-50 bipods.”

Last December, an officer of the Ukrainian DIU Special Forces killed a Russian soldier at a distance of 2069 meters. The elimination of the invader became a record for Ukraine in terms of the range of elimination of the enemy in the .338 Lapua Magnum caliber.
