Ukrainian Forces fought off a large-scale enemy assault on Siversky. Ukrainian aerial reconnaissance tracked the enemy column from the very beginning and adjusted fire on it. In the assault, the enemy used not only tanks and armored personnel carriers but also buggies, ATVs, and light motor vehicles. A total of 20 units of equipment were involved, and detecting them posed no difficulty, as the assault took place across open fields, with large clouds of dust rising behind the vehicles. Enemy losses amounted to 159 soldiers, and among the equipment – 1 tank (2 more damaged) and 14 armored combat vehicles (16 more damaged). The press service of the Operational and Tactical Group Luhansk reported on this.
Several units of the Ukrainian Defense Forces were involved in repelling the assault, namely the 30th and 54th Mechanized Brigades and 81st Airmobile Brigade.
In the assault on the defenders’ positions, the enemy used not only tanks and armored personnel carriers but also buggies, ATVs, and light motor vehicles.
A total of about 20 units of equipment were involved, and detecting them posed no difficulty, as the assault took place across open fields, with large clouds of dust rising behind the vehicles.
Additionally, the invaders used thermal imaging equipment to conceal the movement of their forces. Despite this, the aerial reconnaissance of the Defense Forces tracked the enemy column from the very beginning and adjusted fire on it.
The enemy started to suffer their first losses from the Ukrainian Defense Forces’ artillery systems, which was targeting the enemy forces with both conventional and cluster munitions.
Mines also played a significant role, slowing down the pace of the offensive due to the loss of movement of vehicles. As a result, the enemy infantry was forced to hasten and, confused, either froze in place or ran to the nearest forest belt in search of cover.
Thanks to the active actions of the units, enemy losses amounted to 159 soldiers, and among the equipment – 1 tank (2 more damaged) and 14 armored combat vehicles (16 more damaged).
The defenders also managed to destroy 3 buggies, 2 ATVs, and 3 units of light vehicles.
Despite constant attempts to assault, the enemy is unable to make an active advance. On its own section of the front, it has minor successes only in the direction of Vyimka.
Militarnyi previously reported that the Russian command deployed a large armored convoy to capture Chasiv Yar.
From the beginning of the offensive, the Russian convoy was constantly tracked by Ukrainian reconnaissance drones. The convoy was immediately shelled by artillery and hit by drones.
As a result, Russian vehicles got stuck in one single place. The snarl of damaged vehicles blocked the crossing of the canal. The Russian infantry that had disembarked from the vehicles tried to hide in houses but were eliminated by drones.
At least 14 vehicles were burned or left on the battlefield. Preliminary estimates of enemy losses in manpower amount to at least 33 soldiers killed and wounded.
