Ukraine Decimates Latest Russian Assault In Kursk

Heedless Kremlin-mandated advances without adequate artillery support result in yet another massacre of Russian troops and armor. JL

Russian forces in Kursk Oblast attempted an advance toward Ukrainian positions of the 1st Separate Siverskyi Tank Brigade but suffered losses as five out of six Russian combat vehicles were destroyed using remote mining. “Pegasus drones are hunting the sixth,” the military added. “Thanks to the coordinated efforts of Pegasus UAV units from the 1st Tank Brigade and neighboring divisions, the enemy’s advance was halted,”

Russian forces in Kursk Oblast attempted a rapid advance toward Ukrainian positions but suffered losses instead.

On Nov. 29, Ukraine’s Northern Operational Command reported that in the Kursk direction, the enemy planned to quickly advance a column toward the positions of the 1st Separate Siverskyi Tank Brigade. The Russian column included six armored vehicles, but their plans failed.

 

“Thanks to the coordinated efforts of Pegasus UAV units from the 1st Tank Brigade and neighboring divisions, the enemy’s advance was halted,” the statement said, accompanied by video footage.

 

According to Ukrainian defenders, five out of six Russian combat vehicles were destroyed using remote mining. “Pegasus drones are hunting the sixth,” the military added.

Key developments in Kursk Oblast

On Aug. 12, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy confirmed for the first time that the Defense Forces were conducting operations in Russia’s Kursk Oblast. He emphasized the goal was to liberate Ukraine’s border areas from Russian troops that regularly shelled the Sumy Oblast.

On Oct. 10, Ukrainian Commander-in-Chief Oleksandr Syrskyi reported that Russia had redeployed 50,000 troops to Kursk Oblast from other directions.

On Nov. 5, Defense Minister Rustem Umerov stated that the first minor clash with North Korean troops occurred in the Kursk direction.

 

By Nov. 7, DeepState analysts noted a new wave of Russian offensive actions in the region.

On Nov. 10, The New York Times reported that Russian and North Korean forces were preparing a significant offensive in Kursk Oblast, possibly starting within days.

On Nov. 11, The Telegraph, citing sources, reported that Russian President Vladimir Putin ordered the recapture of Kursk Oblast by Jan. 20, coinciding with the U.S. presidential inauguration.

On Nov. 20, Bloomberg reported that Ukraine’s Defense Forces had used Storm Shadow missiles for the first time to strike Russian territory, targeting a command center in Kursk Oblast.
