Russia Has Lost As Many As 15 Battalions During Ukraine's Kursk Offensive

Ukraine's Kursk offensive appears to have contributed substantially to the degradation of Russian military capabilities this year.

This comes both from inflicting significant casualties and forcing the Russians to redeploy troops from other sectors to Kursk.  JL

Valentyna Romanenko reports in Ukraine Pravda:

During the Ukrainian operation in Russia’s Kursk Oblast, launched in August 2024, the Russians have lost almost 8,000 soldiers, which is about 15 battalions. 58 tanks, 162 infantry fighting vehicles, 46 armoured personnel carriers, 136 artillery systems, 2 multiple-launch rocket systems, 592 vehicles, 46 electronic warfare systems, and other special equipment were destroyed or damaged.
