Russia Deploys Egyptian Mercenaries In Latest Vovchansk Failure

Russia has deployed Egyptian mercenaries for combat operations in Vovchansk, it was reported on Aug. 4 as the Ukrainian military observed the transfer of positions from the 4th Volunteer Assault Brigade to the 153rd Tank Regiment of the 47th Tank Division in the city's northern part. their attempts to attack the Ukrainian Armed Forces have been unsuccessful.

Russia has deployed Egyptian mercenaries for combat operations in Vovchansk, Kharkiv Oblast, the Kharkiv Operational and Tactical Group of troops reported on Telegram on Aug. 4.

Russian forces continue their attempts to breach Ukrainian defenses in the Kharkiv operational area, the Ukrainian military reported on Aug. 4. In Vovchansk, Russian troops have intensified aerial reconnaissance using drones and personnel.

The Ukrainian military also observed the transfer of positions from the 4th Volunteer Assault Brigade to the 153rd Tank Regiment of the 47th Tank Division in the city's northern part.

 

"The enemy is engaging foreign volunteers, in particular, Egyptian citizens, in combat operations," noted the military.

In the area of Hlyboke, Russian invaders are relocating and dispersing personnel to combat positions, but their attempts to attack the Ukrainian Armed Forces have been unsuccessful.

Situation in Vovchansk

After a Russian attempted breakthrough of Ukraine's defenses near Vovchansk on May 10, Ukrainian troops regained control of most of the city, Khortytsia military command reported in June.

On July 2, the Kharkiv Operational and Tactical Group reported that the Russians moved three assault groups to Vovchansk to replenish their losses.

On July 13, the military noted that Russia is trying to regroup its units in the direction of Liptsy and Vovchansk, preparing for attacks in the city.

On July 26, the Institute for the Study of War (ISW) recorded advances by the Ukrainian Armed Forces in Vovchansk.
