The Ukrainian military inflicted losses on the Russian invaders who were trying to storm the village of Lastochkyne. The defense repelled nine enemy attacks near Lastochkyne, Severne, Pervomaiske, and Nevelske in the Donetsk region.The Russians attempted to seize the positions of the 225th Separate Assault Battalion with armored vehicles and infantry. They lost a significant number of armored vehicles in the battle. The soldier with the call sign “Osman” shared that the Russians lost a significant number of armored vehicles in the battle.
The Russian invaders attempted to seize the positions of the 225th Separate Assault Battalion with armored vehicles and infantry.
Russian armored vehicles were neutralized by various means, including mines placed on the invaders’ path.
“Drone operators of the 225th Separate Assault Battalion share footage of burned Russian equipment,” the military noted.
Then, drones that dropped explosives on the invaders started eliminating Russian soldiers.
Last week, Russian troops took control of Avdiivka, as well as the Avdiivka Coke and Chemical Plant located north of the city. They have been the target of fierce fighting since October 2023 and have been on the front line since 2014.
After the Armed Forces of Ukraine were withdrawn from Avdiivka to more favorable positions, the Russian invasion forces tried to advance on Lastochkyne.
On February 20, the Ukrainian General Staff reported that in the Avdiivka direction, the defense repelled nine enemy attacks near Lastochkyne, Severne, Pervomaiske, and Nevelske in the Donetsk region.
The invaders need this village to advance on the settlements of Tonenke and Orlivka.
The capture of the village of Lastochkyne will allow Russians to weaken Ukrainian positions in the village of Severne.
As previously reported, no less than 15,000 Russian soldiers were standing against the 3rd Assault Brigade in the Avdiivka sector.
