Ukraine's 3rd Assault Brigade Using Mine Clearance Ground Drone

The use of such unmanned vehicles is growing, in order to protect troops' lives and to reduce obstacles that might otherwise be too difficult to overcome. JL

A ground drone for clearing tracks of land mines for assault groups was developed in Ukraine. It has been tested by Ukraine's 3rd Assault Brigade. These drones operate at close distances to Russian positions that the Ukrainian infantry is going to storm. The drone was tested with PMN-2, PMN-4 and OZM-72 anti-personnel mines. The drone also detonated a TM-62 anti-tank mine.

A small ground drone for clearing the tracks for assault groups was developed in Ukraine.

The drone was tested in the 3rd Assault Brigade.

The idea is that these drones begin to operate at close distances to Russian positions that the Ukrainian infantry is going to storm.

 

“Clearing a minefield 100 meters from invaders is easy and without unnecessary risks for sappers and soldiers,” the brigade says about the drone.

The system allows you to control the UGV from a safe distance without risking.

 

The design of this small UGV is extremely simple, it includes a hull, four wheels, and a protective screen.

For demining, it is equipped with a rotating chain demining device.

In the brigade, the drone was tested with PMN-2, PMN-4 and OZM-72 anti-personnel mines.

Also on the way of the drone, almost on the surface, a ТМ-62 anti-tank mine was put, which a small drone managed to detonate.
