70 Percent of Russians Support Ending Ukraine War - If They Keep Occupied Areas

The implication of this latest poll is that a significant majority of Russians would be content to end the war - if they can keep what they've taken. That number falls to 34% if they are forces to return the occupied territories.

A majority - 55% - think peace negotiations should comment, suggesting that Russians know they are not winning and that the country should cut its losses. This is not a position likely to be viewed favorably by the Kremlin and is probably one of the reasons why Putin is pushing for his army to make some gain of some kind anywhere in Ukraine prior to the re-election vote in March 2024. Ukraine Pravda reports:

70% of respondents would support Putin's decision if he decided to end the war in Ukraine if they keep occupied territories. (But) if Putin decided to end the war with the occupied territories returning to Ukraine, only 34% of Russians would support his actions. 55% of the polled citizens of the Russian Federation believe that is necessary to stop the war and start peace negotiations, while 38% support the continuation of hostilities.

Details: The study showed that 70% of respondents would support Putin's decision if he decided to end the war in Ukraine.

However, if Putin decided to end the war with the occupied territories returning to Ukraine, only 34% of Russians would support his actions.

At the same time, 55% of the polled citizens of the Russian Federation believe that is necessary to stop the war and start peace negotiations, while 38% support the continuation of hostilities.

The survey was conducted on 19-25 October among 1,607 Russians in 137 settlements of the Russian Federation. The study was conducted at home by the method of personal interview. The statistical error does not exceed 3.4%.

It's a positive sign that 70 percent of Russians support ending the Ukraine war, but it's crucial to note that the condition of keeping occupied areas can be a complex and sensitive issue. Peaceful resolution and diplomacy are the keys to resolving conflicts. Hopefully, this high level of support can contribute to meaningful negotiations and a peaceful resolution that respects the rights and aspirations of all parties involved. Peace and understanding should be the ultimate goal. 🕊️🤝 ||Is there A Waiting Period for Divorce in New York||Is New York A No Fault State for Divorce

They might be happier if USA gave Alaska back. While we're at it we could also give California back to Mexico and slow down the illegal immigration.
This would stop all of the current illegal land grab except maybe Taiwan since China would be joining the aggressors soon after seeing first hand how aggression works.

The poll reflects growing weariness with the war, which it is clear Russia is not winning and is not likely to win based on its original plan. But the demand to keep occupied territory is a non-starter for the Ukrainians and probably for NATO

Who cares what the Russian peasants think. Putin's the Boss and he's made it clear that this is an all or nothing war. Stop bringing up this negotiation nonsense. The Boss isn't interested.
