Ukrainian Convict 'Shkval' Battalion Routs Russians At Toretsk

 
A battalion of Ukrainian convicts assaulted and took Russian positions near Toretsk, routing the Kremlin troops in a sector where the Russians have continued to attack in force. 

These convict volunteer soldiers have continued to perform well for their Ukrainian units across the front. JL

Militarnyi reports:

The Shkval Battalion of the 28th Separate Mechanized Brigade drove Russians out of their positions near Toretsk. The Shkval Battalion consists of ex-convicts who voluntarily joined the country’s defense. The assault targeted trenches and dugouts in one of the areas where the Russians were trying to hold the line.  Their successful assault operation in which Russian positions were captured, helped stabilize the situation on the front lines near Toretsk.

Soldiers of the Shkval Special Battalion of the 28th Separate Mechanized Brigade named after the Knights of the First Winter Campaign drove the Russian invaders out of their position near Toretsk.

The brigade’s press service reported on this and published a video on Telegram.

The Shkval Battalion consists of ex-convicts who voluntarily joined the country’s defense.

The brigade spoke about a successful assault operation that helped stabilize the situation on one of the front lines near Toretsk in the Donetsk region.

The video captures that the assault targeted trenches and dugouts in one of the areas where the Russians were trying to hold the line.

The footage shows the dynamic clearing and capture of a prisoner of war through the eyes of the commander of one of the Ukrainian assault groups.

“The enemy desperately tried to stop our soldiers with drones, but to no avail. High-quality training, planning, and motivation of the soldiers played a decisive role,” the 28th Brigade emphasized.

As a result of the successful assault by the Shkval Battalion, the Russian positions were captured.
