Russian Armored Column Destroyed Trying To Attack Selydove

The attacking Russian column included self propelled artillery, suggesting that as the Russians run out of conventional armor they are pressing armored mobile artillery into service as a replacement. JL

Militarnyi reports:

A unit of the National Guard of Ukraine, “Hostri Kartuzy,” destroyed a Russian convoy on the outskirts of Selydove. The Russian armored group consisted of two tanks and two Akhmat armored personnel carriers. The Russians keeps trying to make a successful assault in this area, but because of poor training, they suffer significant losses in both manpower and military equipment. FPV drones were used.  Akhmat self-propelled artillery systems are quite rare on the battlefields of the Russian-Ukrainian war.

A unit of the National Guard of Ukraine, “Hostri Kartuzy,” showed a destroyed Russian convoy on the outskirts of the village of Selydove.

This was reported by the unit’s press service.

It is reported that the Russian armored group tried to expand the bridgehead around the village.

“The Ukrainian Defense Forces are doing an incredible job even in such difficult conditions,” the statement reads.

The Russian armored group consisted of two tanks and two armored combat vehicles that looked like Akhmat armored personnel carriers.

The means used by the Ukrainian troops to destroy the Russian armored vehicles is not reported, we can assume that FPV drones were used.

It is worth noting that Akhmat self-propelled artillery systems are quite rare on the battlefields of the Russian-Ukrainian war.

There have been only a few recorded destructions of Akhmat, but damage of various versions has been recorded on numerous occasions.

Combat missions of the “Hostri Kartuzy”

Recently, on November 3, it was reported that the unit’s soldiers destroyed Russian armored vehicles near Pokrovsk.

According to the unit, the enemy keeps trying to make a successful assault in this area, but because of poor training, they suffer significant losses in both manpower and military equipment.

In the morning of November 3, 2024, the Defense Forces of Ukraine destroyed two Russian tanks and one infantry fighting vehicle.

The vehicles were equipped with additional protection—anti-drone grills—which in theory should have protected them from Ukrainian drones.

A unit of the National Guard of Ukraine, the “Hostri Kartuzy”, was involved in the defense of Pokrovsk in late October 2024.
