Captured Ukrainian Soldiers Freed By 3rd Assault BDE During Kharkiv Counterattack

The 3rd Separate Assault Brigade announced successful assault operations in Kharkiv Oblast, during which they eliminated Russian sabotage and reconnaissance groups, freed captured Ukrainian soldiers, and reclaimed lost positions. captured soldiers from attached units were freed during the operation, including a commissioned officer with the rank of captain, a sergeant, and several enlisted men.

The 3rd Separate Assault Brigade announced successful assault operations in Kharkiv Oblast, during which they eliminated Russian sabotage and reconnaissance groups, freed captured Ukrainian soldiers, and reclaimed lost positions, the brigade reported on Monday, Oct. 7.

According to the brigade, several captured soldiers from attached units were freed during the operation, including a commissioned officer with the rank of captain, a sergeant, and several enlisted soldiers. They are now safe and receiving medical assistance.

 

"While the enemy was occupied with us, our comrades managed to escape. In this case, these guys carried certain information, especially since there was an officer, a platoon commander... It was crucial to make sure this information didn’t fall into enemy hands," said "Mosya," commander of the 1st Company of the 2nd Assault Battalion of the 3rd Separate Assault Brigade.

 

Additionally, the 3rd Brigade was able to push back the occupiers, clear the so-called "gray zone," and generally improve the position of the Ukrainian Defense Forces in the Kharkiv direction.

The 3rd Assault Brigade did not specify the date of the assault.

 

On Oct. 5, the Kreminna tactical group reported that four Ukrainian soldiers were ambushed by an enemy sabotage and reconnaissance group while moving between positions in the Lyman direction, but were rescued by their comrades from the 3rd Brigade. The assault group responded to the scene, engaged in battle with the occupiers, and forced them to abandon the captives.

On Sep. 24, it was reported that the Vovchansk Aggregate Plant had been liberated, with Ukrainian forces clearing the last of 30 enemy-held buildings on the site.

On Oct. 4, the Kharkiv Operational and Tactical Group announced a successful offensive operation near the settlement of Lyptsi in Kharkiv Oblast, conducted by the 13th Operational Brigade "Khartia" of the National Guard of Ukraine.
