Ukraine's 79th Air Assault Brigade Defeats Russian Kurakhove Attacks, Near Pokrovsk

This defeat of Russian attacks and others like it in the Donbas reveal that Russian attacks are inconsistent and can be beaten back when sufficient artillery and drone support is available to the troops on the ground. JL

Militarnyi reports:

The 79th Air Assault Brigade defeated an assault group of Russian armored vehicles and infantry in the Kurakhove sector of Donetsk. Ukrainian intelligence  spotted a convoy of Russian armored vehicles far from the outskirts of the positions. Around Kurakhove, Ukrainian forces have been fighting off massive Russian assaults using armored vehicles and large numbers of infantry for a long time. The paratroopers continue to hold their positions and destroyed a significant amount of Russian equipment in heavy fighting.

The soldiers of the 79th Separate Tavrian Air Assault Brigade defeated an assault group of Russian invaders in the Donetsk region.

The invaders’ armored vehicles and infantry tried to break through the defense in the Kurakhove sector.

The brigade’s press service released the footage of the battle.

The Brigade reported that the invaders had once again taken a “suicidal step” and, with the support of equipment, attacked the positions of the Ukrainian paratroopers.

However, Ukrainian intelligence officers spotted a convoy of Russian armored vehicles far from the outskirts of the positions.

Ukrainian artillery immediately “friendly” met the Russian invaders and attacked drone operators.

“When the Russians felt the aim of our soldiers’ fire, they started to turn their equipment around and flee the battlefield,” the 79th Separate Tavrian Air Assault Brigade shared.

According to the paratroopers, the daring assault ended in the deaths of some of the invaders and the escape of the survivors.

The paratroopers used drones with ammunition to eliminate the Russian infantry that had landed from armored vehicles.

It is worth noting that in the Kurakhove sector, the Ukrainian Defense Forces have been fighting off massive Russian assaults on settlements using armored vehicles and large numbers of infantry for a long time. Despite these assaults, the paratroopers continue to hold their positions and destroy a significant amount of Russian equipment in heavy fighting.

Two weeks ago, the invaders used 27 units of armor, including three tanks, in the recent assault. The Ukrainian military observed the movement of Russian assault troops using reconnaissance drones.

In the first hours of the battle, the defenders hit a tank and five armored fighting vehicles with infantry and burned a buggy. The Ukrainian forces used artillery, attack drones, anti-tank systems, and other weapons.
