Ukrainian forces from the Main Intelligence Directorate (HUR) have liberated the Vovchansk Aggregate Plant in Kharkiv Oblast, capturing nearly 20 Russian soldiers and killing several dozen more, according to a HUR officer with the call sign Viking.
The Russians at the plant put up significant resistance, with battles lasting over a week amid heavy shelling from the Russian side. However, the plant is now under the control of Ukrainian Defense Forces, Viking, who serves in the Timur special forces unit, said on national television on Sept. 25.
"At the Vovchansk Aggregate Plant, nearly two dozen adversaries were taken prisoner, and several dozen were killed," said Viking.“Additionally, four occupiers attempted to leave the plant and were neutralized outside the perimeter.”
Currently, the plant's buildings are heavily damaged, but it is possible to maintain a defense there. The liberated territories have been handed over to the control of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
NV sources in the Ministry of Defense reported on Sept. 24 that the Defense Intelligence units had liberated the Vovchansk Aggregate Plant in Kharkiv Oblast, clearing the last of the thirty buildings at the plant.
In late August, the spokesperson for the Kharkiv Operational-Tactical Troop Grouping, Vitaliy Sarantsev, stated that Russian military personnel remained at the aggregate plant in Vovchansk, Kharkiv Oblast, where they had been blocked for several months. The representative of the Kharkiv grouping reported that initially, there were about 40 Russian military personnel at the plant, but the enemy suffered losses.
