2 Ukrainian Paras Capture Russian Detachment At Pokrovsk

The two Ukrainian paras not only captured the numerically larger Russian unit, but held them captive for over a day in the bunker where they'd been trapped until Russian artillery fire subsided. JL

Valentyna Romanenko reports in Ukraine Pravda:

On the Pokrovsk front, paratroopers of the 46th Separate Airmobile Brigade managed to discover, thanks to intelligence, a hideout where 11 soldiers from a Russian forward detachment was located. They then encircled the building and took it under fire control. "The capture of prisoners was carried out by only two Ukrainian soldiers." Due to heavy enemy artillery fire, the two Ukrainians, together with the prisoners, remained in shelter at their positions for another day until all the captured Russian soldiers were evacuated."

The paratroopers of the 46th Separate Airmobile Brigade have posted a video showing how they took several Russian soldiers captive.

Details: It is noted that the other day, thanks to intelligence data, it was possible to timely discover a shelter where the Russian unit was located.

The building was encircled and fired upon. It is stated that after having considered their options, the Russians made the only right decision in this case – to come out with their hands up and surrender to Ukrainian captivity.

Quote: "Thus, they prolonged their miserable lives, and the 46th Brigade contributed to the prisoner-of-war exchange pool. Thanks to this, even more Ukrainian soldiers will be able to come back home in the future." Details: At the same time, the brigade told Army Inform outlet that it happened on the Pokrovsk front. The paratroopers managed to discover a hideout where a group of 11 soldiers from a Russian forward detachment was located. They then took the building under fire control.

The Ukrainian military began to methodically attack them by conducting targeted strikes. As a result of these actions, two Russian soldiers were killed, and nine people decided to surrender.

Quote from Army Inform: "The capture of prisoners was carried out by only two Ukrainian soldiers, who coped with the task professionally and effectively.

However, due to heavy enemy artillery fire, Ukrainian defenders, together with the prisoners, remained in shelter at their positions for another day or two until all the captured Russian soldiers were evacuated."
