Ukraine's 12th Azov Brigade Has Pushed Russians Out of Serebryanskyi Forest

This is a significant development because the forest - and the Kreminna area generally - have been among the areas in which the Russians have tried to advance this winter and spring.

That the Ukrainians have forced the Russians back adds to the narrative of recent Russian weakness along the entire front. JL

New Voice of Ukraine reports:

Fierce fighting continues in the Serebryanskyi Forest near Kreminna in Luhansk, but recently, the 12th Azov Special Forces Brigade' Hroza Battalion has pushed Russian forces back and forced some to withdraw from the forest. The Serebryanskyi Forest spans 10.1 hectares and is near the town of Kreminna in Luhansk Oblast

Fierce fighting continues in the Serebryanskyi Forest in Luhansk Oblast, where the Ukrainian Armed Forces have held the line since the summer of 2022. Soldiers from the National Guard of Ukraine released a video on July 7 showing the ongoing battle.

According to the report, fighters from the Hroza battalion successfully pushed back Russian forces.

The Serebryanskyi Forest spans 10.1 hectares and is near the town of Kreminna in Luhansk Oblast, often referred to simply as Kreminna.

Analysts from the DeepState monitoring group reported on June 15 that Russian troops had withdrawn from the Serebryanskyi Forest area. Svyatoslav Palamar, deputy commander of the 12th Azov Special Forces Brigade of the National Guard of Ukraine, credited the Azov fighters for this achievement.

Earlier, on April 21, Azov and the Bureviy brigade reported conducting offensive actions in the Serebryanskyi Forest. The brigades' units advanced 1 km in depth and 2 km along the front, completing one stage of their offensive operations.

Azov has urged the media and the public not to create "information noise" and to avoid reporting details of the Ukrainian Armed Forces' advance without official confirmation from the brigades' media services.
