Ukrainian Forces Counterattack in the Serebransky Forest, Push Russians Back

This is yet another sector of the front where Ukrainian forces are causing the Russians to retreat.

It suggests that the Kremlin focus on Chasiv Yar and Kharkiv created operated difficulties in many other parts of the front. JL

militarnyi reports:

Ukrainian forces have driven Russian invaders from several positions in the Serebryansky Forest in the Luhansk region. The National Guard’s “Azov” and “Bureviy” Brigades jointly advanced 1 km deep and 2 km wide in the Serebryansky region. Combat operations in the area highlight the difficulty of holding positions and advancing units in wooded conditions as the front line now passes through the Serebryansky Forest following the advance of Ukrainian Forces in the fall of 2022, as part of their Kharkiv offensive.

The National Guard’s “Azov” and “Bureviy” Brigades jointly advanced 1 km deep and 2 km wide in the Serebryansky Forest in the Luhansk region.

This information was provided by the press service of the 12th Special Purpose “Azov” Brigade on its Telegram page.

The update clarifies an earlier report stating that the Defense Forces had driven Russian invaders from several positions in the Serebryansky Forest in the Luhansk region.

This initial information was shared on Facebook by Lieutenant Colonel Svyatoslav Palamar, deputy commander of the 12th Special Forces Brigade “Azov” of the National Guard of Ukraine.

“The 12th Azov Special Forces Brigade, together with the 1st Bureviy Operational Brigade of the National Guard of Ukraine, conducted offensive operations in Serebryansky forestry on April 21, 2024.

As a result of joint actions, the units of the brigades advanced 1 km deep and 2 km along the frontline, completing one of the stages of offensive actions in their direction,” the press service of “Azov” wrote this morning.

This information was presented with a delay for several reasons, the main one being that brigade units needed to enter and secure their positions in this sector.

“We are not discussing the exact events that occurred before our guys entered this direction,” wrote Lieutenant Colonel Svyatoslav Palamar.

Earlier this week, Azov published a video of the brigade’s combat operations in the area, highlighting the difficulty of holding positions and advancing units in wooded conditions.

Additionally, the 1st Operational Assignment Brigade “Bureviy” showcased their work in this direction this week:

Following the advance of the Ukrainian Defense Forces in the fall of 2022, as part of the Kharkiv offensive operation, the front line now passes through the Serebryansky Forest, where the Azov and Bureviy Brigades hold the defense.
