Kremlin "Recommends" Crimea Air Defense Units Evacuate Families To Russia

This announcement suggests the Russians are beginning to acknowledge that their military facilities on occupied Crimea are increasingly indefensible. 

The evacuation of families may be a precursor to further redeployment of other military equipment and personnel elsewhere in Russia as Crimea's utility is diminishing other than as a trophy piece of geography. JL

Russian air defense units have received "recommendations" from commanders to evacuate families to military towns in the Southern Military District located in Russia. on June 10, Ukraine reported damage to three Russian air defense systems. Radars and ammunition depots were damaged as well. "This coincides with the relocation of air defense systems to Belgorod Oblast, leaving Crimea without necessary coverage." Earlier it was reported that Russians had (moved some air and air defense assets to abandoned airfields in occupied Crimea further away from Ukraine.

"This scenario coincide with the relocation of air defense systems to Belgorod Oblast, which poses a security threat to Crimea, leaving it without the necessary coverage," Atesh noted.

Since the Defense Forces of Ukraine had more ATACMS ballistic missiles, russian SAM systems in temporarily occupied Crimea find it much harder to perform their missions.

For instance, on June 10, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported about damage of three of russian air defense systems. Radars and ammunition depots were damaged as well.

 

Taking into account thr fact that the USA allowed Ukraine to use their weapons against military targets on russian territory, it is unlikely that they will be completely protected from attacks in Belgorod Oblast.Earlier video and footage of destroyed S-400 SAM system as well as 92H6 radar on the territory of the russian federation appeared.

The Atesh also noted that russian occupation troops plan to create new mobile air defense groups with ZU-23-3 twin-barreled autocannon to destroy UAVs.

Earlier Defense Express reported that russians had used abandoned airfields in temporarily occupied Crimea.
