Ukrainian Special Forces Now Attacking Russian Positions Around Vovchansk

This confirms earlier reports that Ukrainian forces are now counterattacking Russian units attempting to hold the small, scattered positions they still hold in northern Kharkiv oblast. JL

Operators of the 8th Separate Special Forces Regiment of Ukraine successfully raided Russian positions in the Kharkiv region. Russian invasion forces trying to capture the city of Vovchansk  are being repelled, destroying Russian infantry and military equipment by using hand grenades and disposable grenade launchers to destroy the invaders in dugouts and trenches.

Soldiers of the Special Operations Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine successfully raided Russian positions in the Kharkiv region.

During an attack on the positions of the Russian invaders in the middle of a forest or a forest plantation, operators of the 8th Separate Special Forces Regiment of the Armed Forces of Ukraine used small arms in close combat.

Soldiers of the Special Operations Forces also used hand grenades and disposable grenade launchers to destroy the invaders in dugouts and trenches.

 

The SOF said that the enemy had not had time to recover before operators of the combat group of the Special Operations Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine had already been at their positions.

As a result of successful combat operations in the Kharkiv region, 11 Russian soldiers were killed and three were captured.

 

“As our comrades say, in such situations, the main thing for the enemy is not to give up, because then they will have a chance to survive and return home someday, and not become military fatalities,” the SOF said.

On May 10, Russian invasion forces began their assault operations in the north of the Kharkiv region and are now trying to capture the city of Vovchansk. However, the Ukrainian soldiers are repelling them, destroying the invaders’ infantry and military equipment.

The beginning of the Russian assault, although relatively quick, was partially halted by Ukrainian troops who were sent to this area.

 

Due to the prompt actions of the Ukrainian Defense Forces, they managed to break some units and capture Russian soldiers, who will be exchanged for Ukrainian soldiers in the future.

Battles for individual settlements in the border area and urban battles in Vovchansk are ongoing, where the Russian invaders are trying to gain a foothold.
