After Ukraine's 2nd Successful Attack, Russia Moves Warplanes From Crucial Air Base

Russia was forced to move most of the planes stationed at its most important airbase for terror bombing of Ukrainian cities after Ukraine forces successfully attacked it with drones again. 

The attack evidently interrupted another mass Russian attack on civilian targets in Ukraine. It is apparently easier for Russia to move its planes than to improve its air defenses. JL

Russia’s military has moved many of its warplanes from Engels airbase to other locations following Ukraine’s strikes on the crucial airbase. The strike was the second recent attack on the Soviet-era airbase, located about 300 miles away from the Ukrainian border and more than 450 miles south-east of Moscow. The airbase is a crucial site for Russian air force operations against Ukraine and for the country’s strategic nuclear forces.

Russia’s military has moved many of its warplanes from Engels airbase to other locations following Ukraine’s strikes on the crucial airbase, according to a spokesperson for the Ukrainian air force.

Three Russian servicemen were killed yesterday after a Ukrainian drone attack on the airbase, which lies deep inside Russian territory, according to Russia’s defence ministry.

The strike was the second recent attack on the Soviet-era airbase, located about 300 miles away from the Ukrainian border and more than 450 miles south-east of Moscow.

Earlier this month, three servicemen were killed and two aircraft were damaged during an apparent Ukrainian drone attack on the airbase.

The airbase is a crucial site for Russian air force operations against Ukraine and for the country’s strategic nuclear forces. It is home to Russia’s 121st heavy bomber aviation regiment, which includes the Tu-95 and Tu-160 strategic bomber squadrons whose missiles have devastated Ukraine’s energy infrastructure.
