Report: 'Average' Techie Earned $93,000 in 2015

The average annual salary for a tech worker jumped to $96,370 in 2015, an increase of 7.7 percent from last year, according to a survey by tech careers website Dice. It was the biggest year-over-year increase in the 10 years that Dice has been doing the survey.

Of the more than 16,000 technology professionals surveyed, 62 percent earned higher salaries in 2015 than the year before. The average tech bonus was $10,194, a 7 percent increase from last year.
Tech workers in Silicon Valley command the highest pay, with an average salary of $118, 243. New York, Los Angeles, Boston, and Seattle rounded out the top five metro areas with the highest-paid tech professionals.
